Tuition & Financial Aid
Tuition & Financial Aid
Tuition for the 2012 - 2013 school year is $4,800. There is a 5% discount for the second child and a 10% discount for the third and subsequent children in the family. This means that your child will be getting the finest academic and values education for about $26 per school day! Families pay their tuition directly to APS which is the company we contracted to provide billing services. There are several different payment options. A tuition agreement is part of the packet given to parents at the time of registration.
Scholarships & Tuition Assistance
GWCRS offers several scholarships and provides tuition assistance to families who qualify. Any family that wants to be considered for tuition assistance from the GWCRS, the Diocese of Providence or many parishes must fill out a FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment application. New families will receive a FACTS informational packet when their child/children are accepted. All present families receive a FACTS packet as part of their registration material in January.
Scholarships and Tuition Assistance totaled over $156,900 for the 2011-2012 school year.
Parents and guardians are encouraged to submit the FACTS application by the initial deadline set by the Diocese of Providence for earliest consideration of aid; however, applications may still be submitted after the initial deadline. Paper applications may be completed and mailed or online applications may be completed at the link below:
Please note: FACTS only processes the applications they do not award any financial aid.
Parish Assistance
Several years ago, Bishop Louis Gelineau mandated that every parish must spend at least 7% of its gross annual income on tuition assistance to families with children in Catholic schools.
Some parishes have a set formula they follow in determining assistance, while others base their decisions on financial need and other mitigating circumstances. Many parishes require involvement in parish activities, financial support and regular Mass attendance of those families who desire financial aid. As each parish operates their subsidy program differently, we encourage parents to speak with their pastor about the criteria in their parish.
If you belong to a parish, please check with your pastor to see if they require a FACTS application to be considered for a parish subsidy.
