Pre-K Program

LOCATION

The GWCRS Pre-Kindergarten Program is located at Monsignor Gadoury Catholic Regional School, 1371 Park Avenue, Woonsocket, adjacent to Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Parish.

PROGRAM GOALS

The program's goals are to enhance social and emotional development and self-help skills, while preparing the children for a smooth transition into kindergarten.  This is achieved through the creation of a "learn through play" environment, which is centered around monthly themes focusing on religion, language arts development, pre-math, pre-science, cognition, music, art and dramatic play.  Hands-on activity is a primary learning tool, used to help the children develop positive self-image and self-expression.  The maximum class size is 20 for four-year olds and 18 for three-year olds.

PROGRAM OPTIONS

Our Pre-K Program is directed towards children who turn three and four years of age by September 1st of the school year.  There are several program options for parents to choose from, depending on their child's readiness and the family's needs.

For four year olds, we offer either a half-day program, 8:30 - 11:30 a.m., or a full-day program, 8:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. for two days (Tuesdays & Thursdays), three days (Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays), or five days (Monday - Friday).

For three year olds, we offer Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 8:30 a. m. – 11:30 a.m.

TUITION and REGISTRATION

The program tuition for the 2012-2013 school year is $30 per full day or $22 per half-day, with a non-refundable registration fee of $100 ($90 if the child is the second child in the System’s schools and $80 if the child is the third child in the System's schools).  Tuition is paid in ten monthly payments August 1st – May 1st.  A copy of your child's immunization record, birth certificate, and, if Catholic, baptismal certificate will be required at the time of registration.  Call 767-5902 or 762-1095 for more information.
