Mrs. LaRose and Mrs. Ortiz, from Navigant Credit Union, came to do an interactive lesson on budgeting with our 4th and 5th graders. Each group received a card with their job information, marriage status, and whether or not they had children. They were also notified if they had student loan debt or credit card payments. Once they received all of this information, they had to use the budgeting sheet to budget their money accordingly. They had to use this information to decide where they would live and how they would get to work. They worked on manipulating budgets to manage "wants vs. needs." It was a very enlightening experience for all!
