Prayer & Liturgical Life

Our system's prayer and liturgical life is at the heart of our activities. They are our refuge and source of grace.

Our day is permeated with prayer, at the beginning, middle, and end of the day. Additionally, students attend a religion class daily. Our goal is simple: to provide many opportunities for our students to encounter Jesus Christ and choose to have a personal relationship with Him.

Once a month and on Holy Days of Obligation, our system gathers for Holy Mass. These Masses are offered by local priests. Each grade takes turns hosting a Mass, and the choir serves as the music ministry.

During Advent and Lent, students who have made their First Penance are given the opportunity to go to confession.

On All Saints Day, Grade 5 students dress up as their favorite saint for Mass. Prior to this celebration, students complete a research project in their religion class.

What was a tradition at Msgr. Gadoury Catholic Regional School for All Souls Day now takes place at Good Shepherd. Loved ones who passed away are remembered with a special tribute. Luminaries are created by students and these luminaries are placed in the hallways on All Souls Day.

On January 30, 2023, our Good Shepherd school community hosted a beautiful school mass and shared in the joyful celebration of two of our students receiving the Sacraments of Baptism and First Holy Communion. We were so proud to share in this special moment with their family and friends.
